Looking forward to the weekend, weekend!
Okey, enough with the Friday references it's blogging time.
I must say, school was more fun than usual today. We started off with a test about Photography, I'm not sure if I passed but at least I did it... unlike most 60% in my class that didn't even show up until later and have to do the test some other day.
After that we started to look at different aspects in the theme film, our teacher showed of the script of the intro to beetlejuice to show us how a film script could look like (Never seen that film though). He also showed of a script for a movie he made that had more detail how it was supposed to be filmed and so on.
After that he started show different videos that inspired him and things he thought was looked great. One of the first thing he showed was a music video I had already seen "Röyksopp - What Else Is There" but I can't deny that the video is impressive. I'll strongly suggest you watch my link to it.
He showed several others, including another one by the same guy that directed the What Else Is There (It had also the same singer), a blog video from a photographer what it is to be one and “Last Minutes with ODEN” a Documentary about a owner and his dog and the last minutes with it, I'm not even a pet owner and I cried.
We also saw VFX breakdowns and damn, when you see all those layers gather up you can truly see how much work that has gone into those effects. I know many people thing that CGI makes filmmakers lazy and they don't make them effects as good as in them old good days with stop motion and all but there is so much effort into CGI, sometimes even more effort than old movies.
I planned to take out some money after school so I could use it to buy the computer I planned to buy later but there was some complication as the straight route to the closest bank was closed of by the police (Information about what is was all about here *NOTE: IN SWEDISH*), so I took an longer route to it. I didn't know what was going on at the time so I was a bit paranoid if there was a crazy killer or something but nothing really happened.
I also took and bought the album "I Love You, Man!" Rebecca & Fiona, while I didn't like the music their music the first time I heard them but they grew on my and I enjoyed their songs a lot, especially their latest single "Jane Doe" (Video shown above). What I like about a lot about some of their songs that makes them stand out from a lot of other artists is that they are rarely longer than they need to be and tend to not run with the whole popular song structure, only a part of it and that makes them less repetitive and more interesting. Due to that I think they will end up as intresting osu! maps if I successfully map them (Although I guess most of them would work better as osu!stream maps)
This thing means that I tend to love the (short. ver) and (TV size) when it comes to songs because when it works as it gives everything the song has to offer.
That also mean I absolutely hate Extended versions as they give more of the same and if there is something new they are usually much worse than the shorter versions, although I've seen good extended ones that work well.
Well, I think that's it. This was quite a memorable day I must say....
